Community Health Education & Awareness

At the heart of AARTH (African Americans Reach and Teach Health Ministry) is a commitment to equipping communities—especially African American and underserved populations—with life-saving knowledge and tools. Our Community Health Education & Awareness programs are designed to meet people where they are, both culturally and physically, offering trusted, relevant, and action-oriented health education.

Healthy Aging

Aging with dignity, strength, and purpose is possible when individuals are empowered with information and support. AARTH’s Healthy Aging workshops promote wellness for older adults by addressing nutrition, mobility, memory care, chronic disease management, and social connection. We help elders and their families navigate the aging journey with confidence and culturally sensitive care.

Caregivers Support

Caregiving is sacred work—and often overwhelming. AARTH provides Caregiver Support programs to uplift those caring for loved ones, offering tools for emotional well-being, stress management, and practical strategies for navigating medical systems. We create spaces where caregivers, often hidden in plain sight, feel seen, heard, and supported.

Opioid Crisis Rescue

The opioid crisis has touched every community, including ours. AARTH responds with Opioid and Naxolone training that empowers participants to recognize the signs of overdose, understand addiction, reduce stigma, and access treatment resources. Through these trainings, community members are also equipped with naloxone (Narcan) and the knowledge to use it—saving lives, one informed person at a time.

Hands Only CPR

In an emergency, knowing Hands-Only CPR can make the difference between life and death. AARTH offers engaging, easy-to-learn CPR trainings focused on equipping everyday people—not just medical professionals—to act quickly and confidently when a cardiac emergency strikes. No mouth-to-mouth. Just two hands and the will to save a life.

Why It Matters

Our health education programs reflect AARTH’s mission to take health to the people—not only in hospitals or clinics, but in churches, community centers, and living rooms. We believe that when communities are informed, they are empowered—and empowered communities thrive.
