How Our Work Touches Lives
“They Wanted to Be Ready to Save Their Mom”
At one of AARTH’s Narcan trainings, a grandmother stepped outside during the session. When we checked on her, she shared that her grandchildren had asked her to bring them. Their father had died from an overdose, and their mother was actively struggling with addiction. The kids often found her unresponsive at home—and they were scared.
They came to the training to learn how to use Narcan and be prepared in case their mom overdosed. That day, they left with knowledge, confidence, and a sense of control in a situation that had once made them feel helpless.
This is the heart of our work—empowering families with the tools to save lives.
